Staff Picks – Buzz’s 11 Experiences During COVID Quarantine

During the month of December, Loyola Libraries staff make lists and check them twice. What are these lists about? Anything! You can look at past years’ lists here and stay tuned for more lists all month long!

COVID-19 has affected us all, and it’s no different for our furry new coworkers. Buzz went from enjoying his alone time most days to basically spending 24/7 with his human. Here are some of the highs and lows over the past nine months of staying at home.

Watching from afar with wariness
Asserting who is the boss
Hiding out in blanket forts
Finally attempting that round 1,000-piece puzzle
Wanting to escape
Feeling the boredom
Appreciating the outdoors
Trying new hobbies
Hanging out with friends (from a safe distance)
Taking naps
Making it to the end of the year and enjoying the holidays

Since March 2020 Buzz has excelled in his new role as at-home coworker to Laura who is an archivist at Loyola. Buzz uses his extra toes to dominate playtime, enjoys supervising his human at work, and has shifted from tolerating to loving all the extra hours of attention he can get.
