Fr. Pierini along w Fr. Franch played a big role in establishing the Sacred Heart Seminary  (now Casa Italia) in Stone Park.  Pierini also founded Villa Scalabrini Home for the Aged and the Fra Noi newspaper in addition to his radio ministry.

The Scalabrini seminary began in the early 1930s at Santa Maria Addolorata on the Near NW side with a mission to train Italian American boys to become priests to serve the Italian American community.
