Best selling author, Sue Monk Kidd offers personal insights into her calling as a writer. She examines her career choices and provides the story within the story. Her highly regarded first book, God’s Joyful Surprise<\/strong><\/em>, was a “spiritual memoir” and the culmination of her intellectual and spiritual growth. Ms. Monk Kidd’s The Mermaid Chair<\/em><\/strong> was nominated for the 2006 International IMPAC Dublin Literary Award and won the 2005 Quill Award in General Fiction. Her best-selling novel The Secret Life of Bees<\/em><\/strong> has been acclaimed a literary success. Currently living in South Carolina, Sue Monk Kidd is a woman of faith and strength, who puts her beliefs into her work.<\/p>\n
