The John Felice Rome Center Library is reaching out to other cultural and academic institution’s libraries to enrich access to collections and materials which will enhance students’ and faculties’ studies in Rome. Rome is a city rich in history and dedicated to preservation. At present the Rome Library community has access to the Italian Senate Library which is not only an architectural jewel andcontains a rich collection in political science and law, but also has special collections like the manuscripts of the Medieval Statutes of the Comuni and the Laws of the Antique States of Italy. The Rome library has entered an informal agreement with the Pontifical North American College’s library to allow reciprocal privileges and hope to pursue this with other institutions that may provide opportunities for JFRC students to meet students from other international institutions. The JFRC library is now working to join the Unione Romane Biblioteche Scientifiche in 2008. This is a new association of libraries from 11 other foreign institutions, mostly European university centers with a similar mission to the JFRC.
