Loyola alumna and crime mystery writer, Theresa Schwegel will discuss how the city of Chicago “stars” in her books. Not only do her stories deal with the complications of police officers’ lives, Chicago becomes an active breathing character that adds depth and heart to each work. Schwegel, a Chicago native, has garnered several accolades for her writing including the prestigious Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best First Novel in 2005, and the 2008 Chicago Public Library’s 21st Century Award for achievement in writing.
