The Loyola Libraries has recently acquired 6 streaming video collections from Alexander Street Press. Each video collection will eventually contain between 1,000 and 5,000 complete video titles, including some rare or previously unpublished footage. These videos come from publishing partners including PBS, the BBC, Documentary Education Resources, Insight Media, The History Channel®, and many others.
The technical features of these video collections are what make them some of the most exciting electronic resources at Loyola! Videos can be started or stopped at any point and synchronized, highlighted scrolling transcripts run alongside each video. There are also clip-making tools and playlists which allow users to create their own segments of video and share them with a url.
We hope you’ll remember to check out these valuable video resources when planning your next syllabus or researching your next paper!
