The Chicago Reference Collection is a diverse, book-based collection focused on all things Chicago: the history, people, places, and events that give the city its character. This is a valuable resource both for those new to Chicago, seasoned researchers and those just interested in Chicago. Covered in the collection is a vast array of topics ranging from art and architecture to history, politics, sociology and everything in between.
As with the main Reference Collection, due to its limited number and importance, books in the Chicago Reference Collection cannot be checked out and must stay in the library at all times. However, there are photocopiers and scanners at your disposal should you need them. The collection is located on the 6th floor of the Lewis Library, near the Periodicals and main Reference Collection.
