While news from all over the world is abundant on the Net, Loyola University Libraries offer some unique options for accessing news from other countries.
Would you like to read some non-U.S. news reports on recent events in Arab countries? Loyola University Libraries subscribes to Mideastwire.com, a daily email newsletter of concise, translated briefs covering some of the key political, cultural, economic and opinion pieces appearing in the media of the 22 Arab countries, Iran and the Arab Diaspora. Read online or set up your own RSS feed.
Interested in a Russian perspective on current events? Take a look at Current Digest of the Russian Press (formerly Current Digest of the Post-Soviet Press). Founded in 1949, the Current Digest was first published as The Current Digest of the Soviet Press (1949-1991), followed by The Current Digest of the Post-Soviet Press (1992-2010), and now The Current Digest of the Russian Press. Each week the Current Digest presents a selection of Russian-language press materials, carefully translated into English.
Want to easily browse or search hundreds of English and non-English language papers from around the world? You’ll find this and more in Access World News and LexisNexis Academic.
More information about news sources, current and historical, can be found on the Libraries’ News & Current Events subject guide. Take a look and send us your favorite news sources for inclusion on the guide. Suggestions can be sent to Cudahy Reference.
