Join us for One Book, One Chicago-Spring 2011

This spring, One Book, One Chicago travels to Neverwhere, a Chicago-inspired fantasy
novel by award-winning writer Neil Gaiman. Gaiman is a prominent figure in today’s literary world, working in film, comics, fiction, nonfiction, music and theater. In Neverwhere, one of Gaiman’s earliest novels, Richard Mayhew is a London office worker who is content with going unnoticed. However, his decision to help a young girl forces him on a quest in her world, London Below, to find a way back home. London Below is full of horrifying and hilarious characters, and on his journey, Richard must learn more about both this bizarre world and about himself in the process. One reviewer on Amazon.com wrote “Gaiman fans will find this the greatest novel of all time of course….others not exposed to him will find this an absolutely pleasant and quick read that immerses them in a world that if not for the danger (and hey even then) most of us wouldn’t mind living in. Or at least visiting.”

Loyola Libraries will host a book discussion on Neverwhere on Thursday, April 7 at 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. in the Corboy Law Center Building, Room 713. Come join us for a lively book discussion!
