Write Bibliographies Quickly using RefWorks
Join us for a workshop on RefWorks, a program that allows you to collect, store, and organize citations from books, articles, web sites and other sources. Once citations have been collected, it can automatically convert citations into properly formatted bibliographies. A multitude of citation styles are offered including MLA, APA and Chicago Style. Students, faculty, and staff are all encouraged to attend.
To learn more about RefWorks, start by establishing your own RefWorks account or see our RefWorks online guide
WTC classes will be held in room 710 of the Corboy Law Center, located at 25 E Pearson (use the main elevators to go directly to the 7th floor, location is subject to change).
Please RSVP or address any questions to Kristina Schwoebel: kschwoe@luc.edu./ 312-915-8693
(walk-ins are welcome, but space is limited).
Introduction to RefWorks Class:
This class is used to introduce users to RefWorks and its basic functions. Users will be taught how to import and organize references, as well as how to create bibliographies in various output styles from the citations they have added to the database.
It is recommended to have created an account before the workshop.

Users are recommended to have attended at least one of the Introductory RefWorks classes or have a basic knowledge of RefWorks before attending the advanced class, as any of the basics will not be covered. This class will cover the program Write-N-Cite, which allows users to create in-line citations when writing papers, as well as a finished bibliography. This class will also cover RefShare, which allows for file sharing amongst accounts, and RefGrab-it, a tool used to grab citations off of web pages. Users can also request additional advanced material/ question to the instructor before the class that they wish to see covered.
