Food for Fines: Nov. 1-21

Clear your library fines while helping those in need! The library’s annual Food For Fines program is happening November 1-21 (the day before Thanksgiving). During this time, patrons can bring non-perishable food and personal hygiene items to the Cudahy or Lewis circulation desks in exchange for paying down their library fines.

The most-needed items are:

Meat or fish (6 oz or larger)
Vegetables or fruit (14 oz or larger)
Soup, stew, or chili (10.5 oz or larger)
Cold cereal (12 oz or larger)
Peanut butter (8 oz or larger)
100% fruit juice (32 oz or larger)
    Pasta, rice, or beans
Full-sized soaps, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, or feminine hygiene products

Each full-sized can, box of food, or hygiene item will be exchanged for $2.50 in overdue fines. This includes ILL fines! The program is not applicable for IC fines or lost item replacement. Contact the circulation desk or view posters around the library for more details.
