Commonalities: How does feminist pedagogy provide a path for social justice in courses across the disciplines?

How does feminist pedagogy provide a path for social justice in courses across the disciplines?
Wednesday, March 27th, Noon – 1:00 p.m.
Klarchek Information Commons Level 4

Feminist pedagogy is an approach to teaching that focuses on the lived experience of those who exist on the margins or outside of the dominant culture in a society. The theory goes beyond incorporating diverse viewpoints in the classroom by also inviting students to participate in the process of learning in a variety of structured ways. Join us for a discussion about how feminist pedagogy can contribute to teaching social justice at Loyola. Our facilitator for this discussion will be Dr. Betsy Jones Hemenway, Director of the Women’s Studies & Gender Studies Program.

Space is limited to 25 people. To RSVP, please e-mail Jeannette Pierce at jpierc2@luc.edu by March 25th at noon.

To attend via Adobe Connect from your own computer, please RSVP to Jeannette Pierce at jpierc2@luc.edu.

Commonalities is an ongoing dialogue in support of teaching sponsored by Information Technology Services, The Office of Ignatian Pedagogy, and The University Libraries.
