In celebration of March as Women’s History Month, Cudahy Library will feature a display, created by the staff at the Women and Leadership Archives, which focuses on Chicago women artists. The exhibition highlights three artists who worked with a variety of media and used their talents to create a better community.
Joan Heath Fortner won several awards as a teenager for her fashion designs. As an adult, Joan shared her passion through teaching art classes and working with local nonprofits.
Disability activist Anna Stonum began her own graphic design company, where she created art to support and raise awareness for people with disabilities.
Mary Ellen Croteau creates feminist and environmental art, including paintings, sculpture, and installations, that offer a critique on cultural norms in the United States
