The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has called for a nationwide Catholic Call-In Day to Congress on Monday, February 26, 2018, to advocate for action to support the situation of Dreamers.
These undocumented young people are facing imminent threat as immigration protections are scheduled to end soon, including nearly 800,000 young women and men in the DACA program which is scheduled to be officially terminated on March 5, 2018
To ensure that the Ignatian network is fully engaged in this Catholic Call-In Day, we have created a few resources which can be found here:
Telephone Action Alert – Advocates can fill in their contact information and they will be provided with a unique script and contact information for each of their members of Congress. They can also reportback the results of their calls back to ISN.
Call-In Flyer #1 – Provides Overview of the Call to Action and web link
Call-In Flyer #2 – Provides Quotes from Pope Francis, the USCCB, and Jesuit Conference on the importance of standing with Dreamers and call to action web link
We are hopeful these resources are helpful as you mobilize Catholic networks in your community. If you are seeking additional resources, you can find other items at the USCCB Justice for Immigrants page or our immigration resource page.
