In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, we would like to take note that on Monday, October 12 is Día de la Raza, celebrated in Spanish speaking Latin American Countries. It is a day meant to celebrate the heritage and cultural diversity of Latin America; to teach respect, dignity and the inclusion of all people in our global society. In Costa Rica, it is Día de las Culturas, Day of the Cultures, to highlight different cultures. While in Venezuela, it is Día de la Resistencia Indígena, the day of indigenous resistance. No matter what name the day has been given, it is a day of unity.
In celebration of this day, the Loyola University Chicago Libraries welcomes you to check out the Library Research Guide for National Hispanic Heritage Month: https://bit.ly/HHMReadIn
