Library Workshops for the week of February 2nd, 2015

The Loyola Libraries are offering the following workshops below. Unless otherwise noted, all workshops will be held in IC-120 and will last for approximately 30 minutes.To attend an online workshop, please contact the library to receive a link to the meeting. PsycINFO: Introduction to Effective Searching

Are you writing a research paper on a topic in psychology? Come learn about PsycINFO, the premier database for psychology research. This session will provide a basic overview of PsycINFO search techniques. This workshop will be of most interest to those who are new to the PsycINFO database, but it may also provide a useful review for anyone wishing to update their PsycINFO search skills. Using the Library for Your Job Search

Information is one of the most powerful weapons in your job search. Whether you are in the early stages of looking for a job, in the middle stages of applying for a job or in the late stages of interviewing for a job, you need information. This workshop will deal with ways of finding that information. Some of the resources will be specific library resources, but this will also cover some general strategies using internet resources. Citation Searching: Tracking Research over Time

Citation searching allows you to identify references that cite or are cited by other scholars. Citation tracking helps find new research based on earlier research, and can identify how many times and where an article has been cited. Beyond Loyola: Research Libraries and Collections in Chicago

Discover how you may take advantage of the rich library collections found in the Chicago area. Included will be Northwestern University, the University of Illinois Chicago, DePaul University, the Chicago Public Library, and special collections such as The Newberry Library.
