This program explores the sources of Mundelein College’s commitment to civil rights in the early 1960’s with special attention to the college’s decision to send a delegation of faculty and students to participate in the final leg of the Freedom March.
Panelists:
Speakers include Nancy Freeman, Director, Women and Leadership Archives; Dr. Prudence Moylan and Dr. Ann Harrington, BVM, Loyola History Professors Emeritae and former Mundelein College Professors; Judy Fitzgerald, alumna of Mundelein College; and John Fitzgerald, alumnus of Loyola University Chicago.
Mundelein College began in 1930, founded and operated by the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (BVMs), provided education to women until 1991, when it affiliated with Loyola University Chicago.
