Did you miss the first Book League Brown Bag on June 11th? We had a great time talking about a wide variety of topics and books. We discussed reading habits (Do you start multiple books at once or do you have to finish a book before starting a new title?), finding Little Free Libraries (littlefreelibrary.org) around Chicago, and using the Libraries’ Interlibrary Loan service.
Below are a few of the authors and titles mentioned at the last Brown Bag:
Mr. Palomar by Italo Calvino
Complete Poems of Emily Bronte
Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
A God in Ruins by Kate Atkinson
The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien
Tattoos on the Heart by Gregory Boyle
The Jesuit Guide to (Almost) Everything by James Martin, SJ
The Cellist of Sarajevo by Steven Galloway
Collected Fictions by Jorge Luis Borges: “The Library of Babel”
Books by Tamora Pierce, specifically The Song of the Lioness (Alanna series)
Books by Dorothy Parker
Books by Oliver Sacks including Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain, The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat, and his memoir On the Move: A Life
