New exhibits are up in the Donovan Reading Room. Five of the ten cases commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic. The exhibit features replica artifacts from the Titanic courtesy of Dr. Robert Bucholz, as well as many other photographs, documents and a model of the ship itself. 
The Titanic exhibit compliments the “Exploring the RMS Titanic” lecture and “A Night to Remember: An Evening on the Titanic” dinner happening April 13 & 14, 2012.
The Donovan Reading Room is also hosting a small exhibit of the stunning art of Melville Steinfels. Mr. Steinfels created and painted the fresco behind the altar at our Madonna della Strada Chapel and was a well-known liturgical artist. The exhibit sketches, drafts, and various other artworks of Mr. Steinfels. The University Archives and Special Collections received the artwork and papers of Melville Steinfels last year.
In commemoration of the Dalai Lama’s visit to Loyola in April, the Archives also filled the two cases outside the Donovan Reading Room with materials about Tibet and the Dalai Lama. The cases display selections from our Rare Book Collection, photographs, and some of the history of Tibet.
