Rap Genius is a guide to the meaning of hip hop lyrics, and the “the definitive online community of rap aficionados.” The site contains accurate lyrics, verse specific pop-up annotations providing critical interpretation, and notes regarding a song’s historical context, sampling, and hyperlinks to relevant references. This workshop will discuss and explore the Rap Genius collaborative text-annotation platform, and future directions. Questions may be sent to Stephen Macksey .
