Rap Genius is a guide to the meaning of hip hop lyrics, and the “the definitive online community of rap aficionados.” The site contains accurate lyrics, verse specific pop-up annotations providing critical interpretation, and notes regarding a song’s historical context, sampling, and hyperlinks to relevant references. This workshop will discuss and explore the Rap Genius collaborative text-annotation platform, and future directions. Questions may be sent to Stephen Macksey at smackse@luc.edu.

Join us for an informative program on RefWorks, a web-based bibliographic software that enables you to organize your research, include in-text citations while you write your paper, build a bibliography in a variety of citation styles, and Import references from many data sources. This intro workshop will cover how to set up your account, add your citations, importing and exporting references, and creating bibliographies.
