In celebration of March as Women\u2019s History Month, Cudahy Library will feature a display, created by the staff at the Women and Leadership Archives<\/strong>, which focuses on Chicago women artists. The exhibition highlights three artists who worked with a variety of media and used their talents to create a better community.<\/p>\n

Joan Heath Fortner won several awards as a teenager for her fashion designs. As an adult, Joan shared her passion through teaching art classes and working with local nonprofits.<\/p>\n

Disability activist Anna Stonum began her own graphic design company, where she created art to support and raise awareness for people with disabilities.<\/p>\n

Mary Ellen Croteau creates feminist and environmental art, including paintings, sculpture, and installations, that offer a critique on cultural norms in the United States<\/p>\n
