The month of May was designated as Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in the U.S. in 1990 which recognizes the generations of Asians and Pacific Islanders who have contributed to and influenced America\u2019s history, culture, and triumphs. Reading works of Asian American authors can broaden one\u2019s perspectives on immigration experiences, issues of belongingness to everyday life stories.
