The University Libraries celebrated National Library Week with the Alumni Authors panel titled “Drawn to the Library: Alumni Authors Who Create” on April 9. Loyola alumni Scott Larson (BA \u201997), Andrew Pepoy (BA \u201991), and Stephen Titra (BA \u201968) discussed their creative journeys and approaches to storytelling through visual art. They shared how their experiences at Loyola, including interactions with professors in the Department of Fine Arts, fellow students, and the neighborhood around campus, helped shape their careers. The alumni authors also answered questions about breaking into the comic industry, navigating creative careers, and offered advice about pursuing one’s passion. At the end of the event, the artists took the time to talk with guests about their works of art on display or sign copies of their comic books. The spirit of the American Library Association’s theme of “Drawn to the Library” demonstrates how the libraries bring together artists, readers, and writers to celebrate Loyola’s imaginative and giving spirit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
