Reilly, President of the Center for Research Libraries.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>When:\u00a0 Tuesday, November 18th, 4:30 &#8211; 6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Where:\u00a0 Klarchek Information Commons, 4th Floor<\/p>\n<p>Topic:\u00a0 Sources for Research:\u00a0 CRL Global Resources and the Changing Landscape<\/p>\n<p>Scholars and researchers in the humanities and social sciences rely heavily on primary sources such as newspapers, government publications, and original documents.\u00a0 Traditionally libraries, particularly libraries at large research universities, have identified, collected and preserved such materials from the U.S. and other world regions.\u00a0 Today this work is more challenging &#8212; and more urgent \u2013 than ever, with the migration of documentation from paper to digital media. At the same time the contracting economy means fewer resources are available to libraries to support such work.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>The Center for Research Libraries is a cooperative effort among libraries, including Loyola University Libraries, to preserve source materials for scholarly research and teaching.\u00a0 This presentation will discuss how CRL is responding to new needs and new conditions to ensure continuing scholarly access to those sources.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Members of the Loyola University Chicago community are invited to a presentation by Bernard F.
