The exhibit uses books, objects, textiles, and other items to tell the story of the European Jesuits and women religious who arrived in America to serve local populations. Along with the hundreds of items on display are materials from the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/luc.edu\/archives\/\" target=\"blank\" rel=\"noopener\">University Archives and Special Collections<\/a><\/strong>. The exhibit features some of the follow materials from the Archives and Special Collections: <\/p>\n<p>\u2022 A rare first edition of the <em>Spiritual Exercises<\/em>, published in Latin in 1548<br \/>\n\u2022 1875-1878 handwritten St. Ignatius College Library catalog<br \/>\n\u2022 Photographs of St. Ignatius College<br \/>\n\u2022 Original artwork by Melville Steinfels for the fresco in the Madonna della Strada Chapel<br \/>\n\u2022 Father Mertz&#8217;s Madonna della Strada Chapel construction photo album<br \/>\n\u2022 Several prints and rare books co-owned by Loyola University Chicago Archives and Special Collection and The Newberry Library<\/p>\n<p><em>Crossings and Dwellings<\/em> will run until October 19, 2014.
