I am an anthropologist completing a book entitled Of Karma and Grace: Mediating Religious Difference in Millenial Sri Lanka. My expertise is on contemporary Theravadin Buddhism, Christianities (various denominations, including Pentecostalism), and their nationalistic and evangelical/ ecumenical entanglements. Additionally, I study theistic Buddhism and deity mediumship. I teach courses on Religion & the Media Turn, Christianities in Cross-Cultural Perspective, among various other courses in Anthropology and social theory. (Anthropology of Violence, Intro to Anthropology, Modern Thought.) I am presently on the Board of the Journal of Global Buddhism.
