Her research, teaching, and publications center on global cinema, religio-aesthetics, media adaptation, film theory and history, and early modern British literature and culture. Her recent publications focus on the cinema of Japan and India. She has published essays in <em>Shakespeare Survey<\/em>, <em>Cahiers \u00c9lisab\u00e9thains<\/em>, and several edited volumes. Her books include the monograph <em>Re-forming Shakespeare: Adaptations and Appropriations of the Bard in Millennial Film and Popular Culture<\/em> (2013) and co-edited volume <em>Apocalyptic Shakespeare:&nbsp;Essays on Visions of Chaos and Revelation in Recent Film Adaptations<\/em> (2009).
