Chicago Open Archives @ Loyola University Archives

Visit the Loyola University Chicago Archives & Special Collections and the Women & Leadership Archives October 6-8, 2016, as a part of Chicago Open Archives: Yours to Explore! October is American Archives Month! Every October archives across the country promote awareness of the items and collections being persevered, cataloged, and made accessible by archivists. This year over 30 local archives will participate in Chicago Open Archives, a three-day event centered around the historical collections in Chicago.

The Loyola University Chicago Archives & Special Collections is home to the University’s historical records as well as collections pertaining to Samuel Insull, Catholic History, Chicago entertainment, and a 14,000-item rare book collection.

Visitors will be able to view selected items from the collections and will receive a behind-the-scenes tour of the newly renovated Archives & Special Collections space. This event is free of charge. If you are a member of the community and not affiliated with Loyola University Chicago, we do ask that you register here so our desk staff can be properly notified.
