Summer Reading: World Cup of Books

This summer, the Loyola Libraries are excited to bring you the World Cup of Books, an interactive program to encouraging reading books from other countries. Show your support for your favorite team by reading books from and about their country! Anyone can participate–students, staff, faculty, and alumni are all welcome to read along with us, and let us know what they think about the books they’ve read.

From June 1 to August 1, we’ll have displays of foreign titles in translation representing all of the countries in the 2018 World Cup. For each match-up during the World Cup (June 14 to July 15), we’ll be adding a blog post with information about books from each country. Many of the books we’ve selected are novels in translation, but don’t let that limit you. Send in your reviews and comments on books of any type!

How Can You Participate?
-Add a review of a book from a participating nation to our bracket here!
-You can also fill out our quick form here, and we’ll add your review to the bracket board.
-Grab a book from the displays in Lewis Library or the IC–all books will have the appropriate flag tucked into them
-Subscribe to Noteworthy or bookmark this blog post and check back regularly during for new posts, all of which will be listed below
