Award winning poet, Angela Jackson will discuss her first novel, Where I Must Go. Set in the late 1960s this story takes place in an unnamed city (clearly Chicago) and follows an African-American student to the elite, fictional Eden University (obviously Northwestern). It is a coming-of-age tale in post-Civil Rights Act America with combustible questions about identity that still loom large today.
