Author, Mai Elliott, will describe her multi-generational memoir of fascinating scope and haunting detail, The Scared Willow: Four Generations in the Life of a Vietnamese Family. She will trace her family’s trials and tribulations through two destructive wars – the war of liberation against French colonialism and the Vietnam War – which sliced through Vietnam’s modern era. Elliott will discuss the difficult choices facing her family as they confronted the turbulent events which at times split them apart and sent them fleeing into an unknown future. Come join us as we learn how history has affected one large, well-educated, and idealistic Vietnamese family.

Free Admission. Book signing will follow presentation.
