On Tuesday, October 20, 2015, the Loyola University Libraries welcomed distinguished scholars and Loyola alumni Theodore J. Karamanski (BA ’75, MA ’78, PhD ’79) and Eileen M. McMahon (BA ’79, MA ’83, PhD ’89), editors of Civil War Chicago: Eyewitness to History for the Friends of the Loyola Libraries Speaker Series. Drs. Karamanski and McMahon discussed the Civil War’s transformative role in our city’s development as the heartland metropolis and the integral part that Chicagoans played in shaping the course of American history.
