Reader’s Guide Retrospective, a new addition to the Libraries’ collection of online research tools, provides researchers with vastly improved opportunities to locate content in popular magazines of the 20th century.
Rather than searching annual volumes of The Reader’s Guide to Periodical Literature by subject, Reader’s Guide Retrospective enables keyword searching of multiple years simultaneously. The online index contains citations to popular American periodicals published between 1890 and 1982.
Once identified, the articles may be retrieved from the Libraries’ print periodicals collections or other online databases. Links to these sources are available within Reader’s Guide Retrospective using the Search for Article button and using the electronic journals search tool.
Reader’s Guide Retrospective inspires creative projects that explore primary sources for researchers in history, literature, political science, and beyond. For ideas or answers to your questions, contact a reference librarian.
