The Fall 2009 One Book, One Chicago program is presented by the Chicago Public Library, and Loyola University Libraries will host the discussion of this year’s selection:
Carl Smith’s The Plan of Chicago: Daniel Burnham and the Remaking of the American City on Thursday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. in Rm. 723, Lewis Library, 25 East Pearson, WTC.
Loyola alumna and Chicago Public Librarian, Janette Kopacz will facilitate the discussion. Mayor Daley described this book as “essential to understanding our city’s evolution from prairie, to industrial hub, to the city we know today.”
Please come join us and invite your friends and colleagues as we learn about Chicago’s history and Burnham’s determination to “Make No Little Plans.”
