One Book, One Chicago: Gold Boy, Emerald Girl

Please join all of Chicago in reading Yiyun Li’s remarkable short story collection Gold Boy, Emerald Girl and attend Loyola University Libraries’ book discussion on Thursday, April 19, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Corboy Law Center, Conference Rm 727, 25 East Pearson Street, WTC.  Janette Kopacz, a Loyola alumna and a Chicago Public Librarian, will facilitate the program.

Gold Boy, Emerald Girl includes nine exquisite short stories set in modern China in which politics and folklore magnificently illuminate the human condition. Through Yiyun Li’s unforgettable characters, we learn about a country and a people who are not so different from us.
