Undergraduate Research Award Winners Announced

 

Meet Melanie Stein, of Denver, Colorado, winner of the first prize! Melanie’s paper was titled “The Diabolical Duchess, the Humble Queen, and the Doomed Countess: Yorkist Heiresses Under the Early Tudors.”

Melanie is currently pursuing a dual BA/MA degree at Loyola in English literature. She also plans to pursue a PhD in early modern literature and drama. Congratulations, Melanie!

 

 

 

 

 

We have a second prize winner! Meet Anna Goman of Moscow, Russia and Skokie, Illinois. Anna’s paper was titled “Comrade Hamlet: Soviet Translations of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.”

Anna is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English and political science. In the years ahead, she hopes to continue writing, do some work in translation, and teach. Congratulations, Anna!
