During the month of December, Loyola Libraries staff make lists and check them twice. What are these lists about? Anything! You can look at past years’ lists here and stay tuned for more lists!
When a song with good bass comes up in your playlist, you gotta Pump up the Jam…as long as you’re not at a stop light…or turning into your neighborhood…don’t be That Guy. 😊
Note: I listen to a variety of music, but this playlist will reflect music from the 90s ~ 2010s.
1. Sleigh Bells – Infinity Guitars (Gets your heart pumping and the bass bumping!)
2. Let It Happen – Tame Impala (Trippy for sure…try not to space out in the second half.)
3. This is Love – PJ Harvey (Good to sing along like nobody’s listening!)
4. Burn It Down (Innerpartysystem Remix)– AWOLNATION (It was a tie between this and Guilty Filthy Soul (Samantha Ronson Remix)
5. Push It – STATIC X (This banger has stood the test of time…in my eyes!)
6. Run Run Blood – Phantogram (P.S. Not the official video, but this song works so well with Mad Max: Fury Road)
7. Constant Conversations – Passion Pit (I love the old school R&B vibes on this track)
8. Sonne – Rammstein (For when you need to get energized for work…or whatever you’re doing.)
9. Pursuit of Happiness – Kid Cudi (For when you’re driving down the road, feeling right, 2 AM, summer night…NOT driving drunk or high.)
10. Machine Gun – Portishead (Fantastic beats all around! If it sounds familiar, it’s because The Weeknd sampled Portishead on “Belong to the World”)
Honorable Mentions:
- Wolt ihr das Bett in Flammen sehen – Rammstein (Anything by Rammstein, really)
- Somewhat Damaged – Nine Inch Nails (Same as above)
- Mammoth – Interpol
- Holdin On – Flume
- Elastic Heart– Sia
