Eric Fleischauer is a Chicago-based artist, curator, and educator. Whether through imperfect drawings of computer generated CAPTCHA’s, enchanting HD videos portraying the infraordinary, or curating videos from YouTube and presenting them in the cinema, his work examines the ramifications of technology’s expansive influence on both the individual and cultural sphere. Eric currently teaches in the department of Film, Video, and New Media at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Recent exhibitions include the Corcoran Gallery of Art in Washington DC, the Hyde Park Art Center in Chicago, Videonale 12 at the Kunstmuseum Bonn, and an upcoming solo show at Threewalls in Chicago.
