no one is named guide
without sufficient vision
& to be admitted into this
house means getting blind
so that all the people
we know are here
but we don’t see them
who will steer them
around the planets we
have stolen in the kitchen
how you ignore my nagging
to sharpen the cleaver
you expect me to butcher
a whole heavenly body
with an oyster knife & only
my small hands alone & unseen
by those we have invited
to our best ever party
the theme is endurance
we feel this
is universal enough
