Lance Garland is a firefighter who lives on a sailboat in Seattle. A veteran of the US Navy during the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” era, and a graduate from the U of WA’s BA in Creative Writing, his work has appeared with OutServe Magazine, JONATHAN, Pacifica Literary Review, among others. His Naval Novel, Second-Class Sailors, is available from FreeLancelot Publishing, and his first poetry collection, Paean of the Sea: Poetry under ‘Don’t Ask Don’t Tell’ is forthcoming this summer.
