invite you to a very special program

Unvraveling the Torah Scroll
Monday, April 11, 2016 • 4:30PM
Klarchek Information Commons, 4th Floor

Devorah Schoenfeld, Loyola Department of Theology Professor of Judaism, will give us the opportunity to look closely at the several hundred years old Torah scroll, a donation to the University Archives and Special Collections.

We will be able to observe the different sections of the Torah scroll and its calligraphy, hear how the Torah text sounds when it is chanted, and learn about how the Torah comes to life in Jewish ritual and practice.

Co-Sponsored by the Departments of Theology and Modern Languages and Literatures
