#ExploreTheFloors – Lewis Library 6th Floor

Whether you’re a Lewis Library regular, or planning to visit for the first time, Lewis Library’s 6th floor has a lot to offer. Enter Lewis Library on the 6th floor of Corboy Law Center, using the main building elevators. Here are some of the highlights:

Circulation Desk
The Circulation Desk is where you can check out and return items, pick up Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and hold requests, and get course reserve materials. You can also check out calculators, dry erase markers, headphones, or a locker! The Circulation staff is also available to help you with anything related to Lewis Library.

Reference Desk and Reference Collection
The Reference Desk, at the south end of the computer area, is where you can ask questions, get research help, or schedule a research appointment with a librarian. The Reference staff is also available to help you with the Reference Collection at the south end of the floor, and any of the other collections at Lewis Library.

Computers
Need a computer? There are over 30 computer workstations with ITS software and access to MobilePrint for both color and black and white printers. There are also group workstations at large tables. Check for an available workstation here. You can also check out a laptop and other equipment from the Digital Media Lab in room 605, just to the left of the Circulation Desk.

Photocopiers/Scanners
There are two photocopiers/scanners on the sixth floor. You can swipe your Loyola ID to scan directly to your e-mail!

Group Work Area
Need a place to meet for a group project? Large tables are available with and without computers, all with views of Michigan Avenue! Reservations can be made online here.

Selected Popular Newspapers and Current Periodicals
The current periodicals section is where we have a range of new scholarly journal and popular magazine issues. We also carry several local, national, and international newspaper titles. The current periodicals section is located past the Reference Desk on the south end of the sixth floor. Periodicals cannot be checked out, but you can use them in the library and make copies as needed.

Movies
Popular Hollywood releases, critically acclaimed documentaries, classic films, and global releases are all a part of our outstanding DVD collection. To see new DVD titles that we’ve purchased, visit our Pinterest board. The DVD collection is located just across from the Reference Desk, past the computer area.

Popular Reading
Our Popular Reading collection contains current best-selling and award-winning fiction and non-fiction books. The collection is on the south side of the sixth floor, just past the Reference Desk.

Curriculum Collection
The Curriculum Collection is comprised of children’s and young adult fiction, along with lesson planning and curriculum materials. The Curriculum Collection is located in the southwest corner of the 6th floor, just behind the DVDs.
