Durga’s research focuses on the religious narratives on landscape. She is currently studying the west coast of India for interreligious narratives, performance and the regional tradition. Archaeologist by training, she incorporates the study of material culture with local tradition. Her PhD project focuses on the sacred geography of Konkan area in India. When not collecting oral narratives in Konkan, she spends her time in North America painting and gardening.
